Intrauterino (Intrauterine) is the concept that Galería Vórtice, a gallery in Roma Norte, Mexico City, gives for the work it shows by Juan Gorupo, a sculptor from San Luis Potosí: its page on him calls Intrauterino “El concepto que rige la pieza en exposición” (the concept governing the piece on show).

The gallery says the word points to the womb's “función que desempeña como lugar propicio para la concepción y el desarrollo creativo” (function as a place suited to conception and creative development): “El útero, como metáfora de la mente, génesis del pensamiento, espacio inmaterial donde se forma una idea para después ser moldeada por las manos del artista” (The womb as a metaphor for the mind, the genesis of thought, an immaterial space where an idea forms before being shaped by the artist's hands).

Writing on cultivarte.mx in April 2019 about Intrauterino, Gorupo's sculpture exhibition that year at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, the site reported that he has said in interviews that Intrauterino was first conceived “como un recipiente con un contenido” (as a vessel with a content), the content being his ideas.
