Maximino Rentería de la Cruz, a Huichol artisan, and Yolanda Díaz Medina tell the story of the triptych on a label on its back, one world to a panel, from the bottom up.

The first world was discovered on the land of the coast of San Blas, in Nayarit, and for that reason it is "un lugar sagrado de los dioses" (a sacred place of the gods). There a caliguey, a ririki, is built, and inside it a fire was lit to plan the journeys to the sacred places to leave offerings, "una costumbre que los peregrinos Wixarikas realizan" (a custom the Wixárika pilgrims keep).

The second world is in the Sierra Madre Occidental. Its people wanted the sun to appear, so they left offerings of gourd bowls, candles and arrows; the shaman began the ceremony because something showed among the clouds, but it was only the light of the moon, and he prayed to this world, "y así quedó" (and so it remained).

The third world is where the pilgrims and shamans hold their ceremonies. They carry their sacred gourds, and a deer and a calf to sacrifice when the star called Lucero shows itself, the star seen only before dawn that disappears when the sun rises in the morning, "y así queda" (and so it remains).
