Julio Galindo (b. 1988) is a Spanish ceramic sculptor, born in Llerena, in the province of Badajoz. He studied fine arts at the University of Seville, specializing in painting and printmaking, and came to ceramics during an Erasmus stay in Florence, where he found that clay let him make sculpture and still work in a painterly way. He lives and works in Madrid and is represented by VETA by Fer Francés, a gallery in the city's Carabanchel district.
VETA describes his work as a platform for "a new mythology that explores terms such as the sacred, the spiritual and the religious." His pieces are earthenware with ceramic pigments and glaze. For La rave de Dios, in his own account, he built the solid pieces in white earthenware over metal armatures that could be taken apart, then fired and glazed them.
In 2022 VETA gave him two solo shows, La liturgia de las aves and Post-apocalipsis; the second, staged on a ruined plot of land, imagined a near future after human extinction. In 2023 the gallery showed his work at ZONAMACO in Mexico City, Art Central in Hong Kong and Art Busan. La rave de Dios (June to August 2024) was an installation of about fifteen ceramic sculptures depicting what he called humanity's last party, arranged around a dead young woman.
In September 2025 his Festín de las civetas (2022) was shown in the garden of the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid, in a group sculpture exhibition of fourteen artists during Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend. In ἐπιφανίας (Epifanías), at VETA from January 14 to February 14, 2026, he reinterpreted classical myths through figures such as Athena and Perseus. From April 10 to June 10, 2026, his solo show Jardín Pompeyano occupied the Espacio Cultural Santa Catalina, a deconsecrated church in Badajoz. A trip to Pompeii was key to the work, which set classical myth beside local life, such as hunting scenes and romerías. His 2025 works Rey Lycaon and Procesión were included in Naturaleza viva, naturaleza muerta, a group exhibition at VETA (September 10 to November 13, 2026).
