Theo Camacho (b. 1981) is a Mexican painter, born in Mexico City; Galería Vórtice gives his full name as Theo Camacho Reyes. He is the son of the painter Juan José Camacho, under whom, according to Terzo Gallery, his training began in 1996. Galería Vórtice tells it differently: he started out drawing caricatures, taught himself in the workshops of CENART and then studied with the painter Demetrio Llordén, the period in which, the gallery says, he laid the groundwork for a more academic figurative painting.

Galería Vórtice traces a turning point in his work to a reworking he himself calls almost accidental: he gave a female figure in one of his paintings a mask and a bowler hat. Taking his cue from opera, he began to paint a carnival of musicians, acrobats, caged birds and masks. “…Beneath the mask there are endless emotions, sensations, magic and fantasy,” he has said, in the gallery's translation. Galería Vórtice's 2025 text on him says he has lately ventured into abstract painting.

In 2009 he founded a gallery in San Ángel, in Mexico City: his own Galería de Autor, in the words of Galería Vórtice and his website, and Várguez y Camacho Galería, according to Terzo Gallery. Galería Vórtice, his website and Terzo all date to 2016 his move to the Roma neighborhood, where Galería Vórtice began. A January 2026 Milenio column, quoting Gabriela Jasso, gives 2017 as the start of Vórtice and names him, Omar Barba Ocampo and Mario Várguez as the artists behind it.

Mosón, a group show of 17 artists that opened at Vórtice's space in Mérida in late November 2024, was curated by him with Mario Várguez and Adriano Olivos and included figurative pieces of his own, the Diario de Yucatán reported. From December 10 to 31, 2024, Vía Santa Fe hosted an exhibition billed as Vórtice Galería de Theo Camacho. He and his father were listed among the artists of the show that marked Vórtice's reopening in Mérida, in a renovated space, on November 27, 2025. His studio account, Theo Art Studio, was tagged among the resident artists in the announcement of Esto es Vórtice CDMX, set to open on August 1, 2026, and in Galería Vórtice's announcement of México Mágico, a group show for September 2026.
